BODY AND BREATH
or how to explore presence and voice
Unlock Your Vocal Power with Personalized Training
The foundation of effective vocal practice lies in understanding alignment within the body. Every individual is unique, and Kirsten’s expert eye helps pinpoint the areas that need to be released and aligned, allowing each person to unlock their full vocal potential and presence.
Trained originally in Linklater voice by renowned teacher Louis Colaianni, Kirsten further honed her expertise by studying with Patsy Rodenburg, becoming one of the first five Rodenburg Associates in the U.S. She is certified to teach Rodenburg's acclaimed Second Circle method, a proven approach for enhancing presence and connection in performance.
Through this work, Kirsten helps you develop openness and receptivity in your body, breath, and voice—empowering you to make bold, dynamic choices as an actor or speaker. With your body aligned and in a state of readiness, you’ll be on your way to increasing vocal resonance, range, and power.
THE VOICE
or how to strengthen the instrument
Unlock the Full Range of Your Voice for Powerful Communication
While the human voice can span 2-4 octaves (16-32 pitches), most people use only 2-4 pitches in everyday conversation. Kirsten works with actors and communicators to free up the full potential of their speaking voice, expanding range and unlocking new levels of expression.
For actors, this is essential. Your voice needs to convey the full depth of your character’s thoughts and emotions in every moment. A voice restricted to just a few pitches limits your ability to explore the full spectrum of choices available to you.
REST & RECUPERATION
or how to protect and nurture the voice
Restore and Revitalize Your Voice with Expert Coaching
Just like your muscles, your voice can tire with use and requires recovery. In functional fitness, athletes use active methods to restore muscle vitality—similarly, your vocal muscles need proper care to stay strong and resilient.
Kirsten offers expert guidance on how to rest and rejuvenate both the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of your voice. With extensive experience teaching voice and working alongside vocal specialists to restore her own voice, she brings a unique, deep understanding of the vital power of vocal communication.
